This reminds me of a very early SoCal ska song. Love the punk influences with the ska, sort of like Catch 22 or Reel Big Fish. it may sound cool if you distorted the guitar during the chorus and picked the tempo up, making it like hardcore punk kick ass ness. just if you guys ever experiment..

Dude i saw your response to the post below me, i love the aquabats! i was going to go to the reel big fish/suburban legends/ koo koo kangaroo / aquabats show but D.C was the closest to me (and i live in NC) i recently started a ska band, we're called 88 MPH!!! congrats dudes, this made me wet myself

hmmm

I can defiantly hear the ska in hear but i'd say you should put this under the techno genre. I hear the fusion jazz too. Unfortunately most of the kids in this genre portal are looking for the ska like Less Than Jake or Fishbones. I like this song though. Very good work but possibly move it to techno. I'd really love to hear you do some heavy techno because i'm a huge techno fan.

Haha well, thanks a ton. I guess the entire 'Ska Void' series I have put together it an attempt to put techno and ska together. It seems like some of them, such as this one, should be under techno where as some of the others should be under ska. Thanks for the review!

Hey man, I like most of your other work but I have some constructive criticism for this one.

For the entire song you should speed the tempo up a little bit. As soon as you're done with the intro with just the melody part, you should really kick it with some awesome techno drums. (at 0:20 i think) Use the loop you used at 3:35 but harder louder and a wee bit faster.

The melody sound sort of sounds like an ice cream truck, not sure if this is what you were going for but maybe change it to that same sound that you used in the background at 0:19.

This song has great potential, I think you should make a remix of this remix just make it faster, heavier drum loop and change the melody sound.

lol, you know, I had never thought of the Ice cream truck thing, but now that you mention it, it really does. I might redo that someday.

I dunno about the drum thing, or the speeding up thing for that matter. I listen to songs where people suddenly speed up, particularily that early on in the song, and it drive me crazy (not sure why, it just does). I wasn't really going for a trance or dance feel here, but....you know Maybe I'll do that. I'll think about it, and PM you if a ever do re-remix this. Deal?
